Keep the source URL, source type, observation time, publication time when available, and the relevant context. A screenshot can aid review but should not silently replace the source or its licensing terms.

An observed change can be accurate and still be irrelevant, duplicated, misattributed, or too weak to support a decision. The work begins after detection.
Resolve the entity carefully
A brand name, repository handle, subsidiary, and executive may refer to related but different entities. A connected timeline should expose the link and its confidence rather than flatten ambiguity.
Look for independent support
Ten articles repeating one press release are one origin, not ten confirmations. Source diversity matters only when the sources add independent evidence.
Publish the unknown
The best brief says what the sources cannot establish: budget, intent, authorization, causation, or timing. Uncertainty is not a defect; hidden uncertainty is.
